When I had a problem with my knee my chiropractor said the only person he would trust with knees was Sam Rajaratnam. He was right. From the start Sam was amazing. Not only did he explain everything well, he understood me as an individual. We agreed my best option would be a total knee replacement which he carried out on July 12th at the Horder Centre. On the day of the operation both he and the anaesthetist Barry Phillips explained clearly what would happen. After two weeks I returned for staple removal and a check up with Sam. To my amazement he said I could drive. I went home and immediately got my car out and drove over to Seaford and took a 16 seater service bus for a circuit. I put myself back on the bus rota for the following week. After four weeks I was horse riding and shortly after I was riding my bike. Everybody has been astounded by my progress which I put down to Sam's excellent surgery, honed to perfection over his career. I hope my other knee holds up for a while but if it needs replacing it will be done by Sam. I've no hesitation in recommending him 100%. Thank you Sam

Mr Sam Rajaratnam replaced my left knee six years ago when I was 79 years old and the operation was extremely successful. The actual surgery lasted for about half an hour and I was only in hospital for two nights before discharge. I walked on my new knee only a few hours after the surgery and was walking without sticks very quickly. At the age of 85, I have just had my other knee replaced, again by Mr Rajaratnam and again very successfully. I have followed all the surgeon and hospital advice and done the suggested exercises assiduously. I was discharged from hospital after three days and was able to start driving again after three weeks. Now, seven weeks post surgery, I can walk easily and comfortably. I have nothing but praise for Mr Rajaratnam’s skill and care.

I am incredibly grateful that Sam did my knee replacement. From the very first meeting I felt listened to, understood and in very safe hands. The level of care and attention throughout the whole process has been outstanding and my recovery way beyond expectation. This is simply because Sam is an exceptional surgeon who works with a brilliant team providing a service which is second to none. Thank you Sam and his team!
